I’ve been planning to write a book about my experiences in Russia for a long time. I’ve had so many strange and weird experiences in Russia that I feel compelled to write about them eventually.
I’ve written a few chapters and a book-plan, but a combination of little free time, laziness and procrastination has meant that my work is still sitting on my hard drive, waiting for the distant day when I bother to finish it.
Anyway, the incomparable English Teacher X has just released his long awaited memoirs about his time in Russia – Vodkaberg, and its already doing rather well, No 1 in the Amazon Kindle Russian travel books section.
I’ve already had a quick read through the book, and I can say that its awesome. Some of X’s experiences are quite familiar to me, and I guess many foreign guys who’ve spent the last decade in Russia. If your not in that exclusive club, then you won’t understand. Russia has changed immensely over the past decade and those distant hedonistic times ain’t ever coming back.
All, I can say is - Buy this book.
