Izhevsk is an industrial town situated about 1200km east of Moscow.
It’s full of factories, concrete apartment blocks and it can be pretty grey and dull at times.
In winter the entire city (and country) is covered by metres of snow which makes the landscape bright and white.
During summer the town changes into a sea of green, as trees and flowers blossom.
Summers can be hot (around 25-30c is usual) and are pleasant.
